Chloe & Ross celebrated their wedding at The Night Yard, a beautiful venue tucked away among the orchards of the Canterbury countryside in Kent.
My day began at the venue with Chloe arriving in a stunning vintage car, accompanied by her dad and bridesmaids. The excitement and anticipation were palpable from the very start!
The morning brought some challenging weather, torrential downpours made the outlook look bleak. But, thankfully, the weather gods were on our side. The rest of the day remained mostly dry, allowing for an outdoor ceremony (albeit under cover) and giving us the chance to fully take advantage of the venue and its surroundings for group shots and, of course, the couple’s portraits. Photographing all the little moments throughout the day, mingling with guests, and capturing genuine emotion made it such a fun experience.
The most unexpected gift of the day? A beautiful golden hour. It didn’t last long, but it was just enough time to step out into the surrounding orchards and capture Chloe & Ross in that magical light. Golden hour is one of my favourite times to photograph, it adds a warmth and depth that’s hard to replicate in any other conditions.
After some heartfelt and hilarious speeches, the party kicked off with Chloe & Ross’ first dance, followed by the always touching father-daughter dance, a moment that never fails to tug at the heartstrings.
It was an absolute joy to photograph this wedding. Chloe & Ross were a dream to work with, the venue team were superbly organised (even with the curveball of torrential rain!), and the conditions ended up creating the perfect setting for memorable photos.
