Do you need a toastmaster for your wedding day?
Planning your wedding can be a stressful task at the best of times, so is hiring a toast master a good move for your wedding day?
This is a question I get asked quite a lot as I meet couples across Kent and discuss their wedding plans. So here’s my thoughts on it from a wedding photographers point of view.
A toastmaster helps ensure your wedding day runs smoothly and should act as a bridge between the venue and you as a newly married couple. Having a clear timeline that is helped along by a toastmaster ensures the smooth running of your wedding day. If your venue is spread across a big area, a toastmaster will help round people up when it’s time to be seated and ensure your guests are looked after for the day.
A good toastmaster will be your weddings MC, this means you can enjoy your wedding day without worrying about the organisation side of things. A toastmaster will bring their own personality but also offer support to the bride and groom throughout the day. They would be your go to person should you need to clarify anything on the day. With their vast experience on wedding days, there is not much out there that could challenge a good toastmaster.
If you’re thinking about hiring a toastmaster, make sure you meet with them first. This should be standard practice for any toastmaster anyway. Meeting with them will ensure you find the right person for your wedding day. Every toastmaster has their own style (much like photographers do) so what may suit you may not suit another bride and groom.
From my point of view, every wedding should have a toastmaster. Ensuring your timeline runs smoothly is a massive benefit to the suppliers you have hired for the day. Not quite ready for the evenings entertainment to set up? Let the toastmaster take care of that so you need not worry. As a photographer any help setting up (or helping to ensure the next group are ready to go) is always much appreciated and ensures this part of your day goes without a hitch and it goes without saying that a smooth running timeline ensures I can work at my best. If you’re based in Kent, I have worked with Julie Lucas before and would really recommend her services on your wedding day.
