The Harty Estate (formerly The Ferry House Inn) is a family run wedding venue built around the 16th century inn. The venue has been extended a refurbished to coincide with its natural surroundings.
The team have executed some exciting plans for 2026, which will turn the Ferry House Inn into an exclusive wedding venue, complete with the addition of a new barn to replace the current event suite and a change of name to The Harty Estate.
The Harty Estate is situated in Harty, Isle of Sheppey which is a beautiful and secluded area of Kent, surrounded by protected wetlands, farmland and of course, the estuary. The estuary provides such a stunning location for your wedding photographs.
WEDDINGS AT THE HARTY ESTATE
Utilising the all-new Garden Lodge for getting ready, which is the perfect space to calm the big day nerves. The Harty Estate offers multiple ceremony locations for all eventualities. The pick of the bunch goes to the Oak Gazebo which over looks the estuary and is the perfect place to say “I Do”. Your guests can then enjoy drinks and canapés overlooking the estuary in one of the most picturesque corners of Kent.
Your guests can make use of the onsite accommodation as well as The Mocketts Farm Cottages a short distance away, you can ensure your guests get the most from your wedding day.

Food plays a massive part on your wedding day, and The Harty Estate delivers on all fronts in this area using home-grown and locally sourced produce. Championing a ‘Field To Fork’ ethos utilising the strong farming heritage of the area to deliver food that has won many coveted awards.
After the wedding breakfast your guest can enjoy all of the outside space that The Harty Estate has to offer. We can take a wander down to the estuary for photographs and/or utilise the space located around the venue. The rose arch is a particular favourite area of mine, especially when it’s out in bloom.
As the day makes way for the evening, we can use the area for olden hour photos or create something truly special under the night sky, something that you can hang on your wall for years to come.
The Harty Estate really is a photographer’s playground and offers the perfect backdrop in any direction you look, whilst retaining a charming homely type feeling.
You can party the night award with one of The Harty Estate’s recommended DJ’s or to a live band.
