Holly & Ashley – Hayne House, Hythe
At the beginning of September I had the pleasure of photographing Holly and Ashley's wedding day at the stunning Hayne House. The day started with bridal preparations taking place in the house itself. A stunning quaint area perfect for the bridal party to get ready and plenty of mirrors and natural light - a photographer's dream. During bridal prep I took Holly's dress for a wander and utilised the stunning outdoor space at Hayne House. After a super relaxed morning it was time for the ceremony. A beautiful reading by one of the guests was a nice touch. We concluded the necessary group photos after the ceremony and I managed to grab a few minutes to go for a walk with the newlyweds for some couples shots. I hoped we were going to have some nice evening light so we got the required shots and headed back to Hayne House for the wedding breakfast and then the speeches. Holly & Ashley are friends of Jess and Josh whose wedding I photographed a few months ago. Josh was Ashley's best man, and certainly didn't disappoint with the speech. It was definitely a case of getting his own back after Ashley was best man at Josh's wedding. Probably some of the best wedding speeches I've ever heard - and I've heard a few! Just as the speeches came to an end, there was a lovely patch of golden light right at the back of the garden at Hayne House. The light only lasted about 5 minutes but we sure made the most of it! The evening celebrations soon got under way, followed by a game of 'Mr & Mrs' and then into the first dance for the new husband and wife. As night drew in we took a short walk to the woodland walk at Hayne House to get some night portraits. Using the festoon lighting we created some dramatic portraits, which were a perfect way to round off a really great day. Holly and Ashley were such a lovely couple to work with, and I wish them all the best for the future.
