WINTERS BARN WEDDING

I had been really looking forward to photographing Kristina and Lewis’ wedding day. They were recommended to me by not one, but three different couples whose weddings I had photographed in previous years, which is always incredibly meaningful. As a Kent wedding photographer, referrals like this are something I value hugely and they instantly made this wedding feel extra special.

Their wedding took place at Winters Barns, a charming and much-loved wedding venue in the heart of the Kent countryside. With its beautifully restored barns, open courtyards and relaxed rural atmosphere, Winters Barns offers the perfect blend of character and warmth. Its versatile spaces and welcoming feel make it an ideal Kent wedding venue for couples planning a laid-back yet memorable celebration.

The day began with bridal preparations as Kristina got ready alongside a small group of close family and friends. The morning was calm and relaxed, creating the perfect start to the day. Emotions rose during a heartfelt dad reveal, always one of the most meaningful moments for me to capture as a wedding photographer in Kent, just before the ceremony begins.

Kristina and Lewis’ ceremony took place in the outdoor ceremony area at Winters Barns, tucked away in a quiet corner of the venue. The secluded setting made the ceremony feel intimate and personal, and it was a truly touching moment for both of them. As they walked back down the aisle as newlyweds, guests created a joyful confetti tunnel, keeping the celebratory atmosphere flowing.

During the drinks reception, I moved into a documentary style of wedding photography, capturing natural moments as they happened, from knowing glances and laughter to guests snapping selfies. This relaxed, candid approach is at the heart of my work as a wedding photographer and helps tell the full story of the day.

After the group photos and a few relaxed couple portraits around Winters Barns, guests were invited back into the barn for the wedding breakfast. The speeches were a real highlight, filled with laughter, emotion and plenty of memorable moments.

As the evening drew in, we were treated to a beautiful golden hour, so we took a short walk around the grounds of Winters Barns to capture some sunset portraits. In just fifteen minutes, we made the most of the soft evening light before the energy lifted once again and Kristina and Lewis joined their guests on the dance floor to celebrate long into the night.
