The Oak Barn itself dates way back to 1780 which is now where your wedding breakfast will be served. Frame Farm has served as a home and business for many centuries, however it wasn’t until 2015 that The Maws family undertook a 3 and a half year renovation product that produces the venue you see before you today. The Oak Barn has a key focus on sustainability, bespoke service and delivering a great service for those that choose The Oak Barn as their wedding or event venue.
WEDDINGS AT THE OAK BARN FRAME FARM
There are five ceremony spaces at The Oak Barn, both inside and out. The outdoor options are the The Byre’s Terrace which presents a stunning backdrop to your wedding photos, if you want protection from the elements (or the summer sun) then The Byre or the rustic Pole Barn offer great alterantives to an outside ceremony. The centrepiece, The Oak Barn itself, offers the perfect indoor ceremony space with it’s high ceilings and lots of rustic charm.
The outdoor spaces at The Oak Barn are really unrivalled, there is a mix between the Grade II listed buildings, a beautiful pond area (a must for your couples photos) as well as a long winding driveway that really adds the countryside vibe to your wedding day. With the generous accomodation sited around the site, your guests will be sure to let theirr hair down knowing their bed is a short walk away.

The outside spaces at The Oak Barn really offer the perfect backdrop to your wedding photographs. Another key aspect of the Oak Barn is the flexibilty of the space. Want to arrive in a classic car? No problem, you can even leave it parked up in the Pole Barn for photos later on. Want to turn the Pole Barn into an area for games to entertain your guest, that can be done too!
A big highlight for me at The Oak Barn was at Kelly & James’ wedding, James arrived in his classic Volkswagen Beetle, along with his Dad in his own Volkswagen Beetle. James has rebuilt his Beetle with his Dad over a few years so it was important these cars were part of their wedding. The cars were parked up in the pole barn and we just had to include them in the photos!
If you’re lucky enough, and the weather gods are on your side. Then you may be treated to the most stunning golden hour at The Oak Barn. The sun sets at the bottom of the site, which is perfect for some golden hours in the grazing field. However the light goes straight through the venue and opens up some incredible options for golden hour photos, with more than just trees as the backdrop.
Overall, The Oak Barn offers endless charm as well as the flexible approach to hosting your wedding. The onsite accomodation is a massive bonus for you and your wedding guests.
