THE GARDENS WEDDING

Tucked away in the Kent countryside, The Gardens is a laid-back wedding venue that’s perfect for relaxed, natural wedding photography. The outdoor spaces really make it stand out, think well-kept lawns, mature trees, seasonal planting and plenty of open space that photographs beautifully without feeling forced or over-styled. From a photography point of view, it’s a venue that lets the day flow naturally, which always leads to more genuine, timeless images.

The Gardens also has an on-site prep area, so I spent the morning with Olivia and her girls as they got ready for the day. Joe arrived already suited and booted, so I grabbed a few relaxed shots of him with his groomsmen before everything kicked off.

Being a crisp autumn day, Olivia and Joe chose to make use of the ceremony tipi for their wedding ceremony, a warm, romantic space for their wedding ceremony. 

One very special guest joined Olivia and Joe on their wedding day, heir dog. I always love it when couples include their pets, and it adds such a personal touch (and some great photo opportunities) to the day.

After the ceremony, we got everyone involved with a confetti tunnel to keep the energy up, followed by a big group photo so no one missed out. From there, I slipped back into documentary mode, blending in with guests and capturing natural, storytelling moments around the grounds. When it comes to The Gardens wedding photography, those un-staged moments really shine, it’s not about posed smiles, but capturing people together, interacting, and enjoying the day.

The wedding breakfast and speeches took place inside the tipi, which had a really cosy, relaxed feel and worked perfectly for this part of the day. For Olivia and Joe’s couple photos, we took a gentle wander around The Gardens, keeping things easy and natural. One of my favourite spots for couple portraits here is the avenue of trees at the back of the venue , it creates a great frame without stealing attention from the couple.

The rest of the day flew by as guests enjoyed the grounds, and before long it was time for the cake cut, first dance, and evening party. Safe to say, these guests knew how to celebrate, and it was the perfect way to round off a brilliant day at The Gardens.
