Sarah & Chris – the Schools of Sommerhill Tonbridge

Blog, Wedding

Wow, where has August gone? My busiest month of the year has come to an end so time to catch up on a bit of blogging (as well as the pile of editing to do!).

Sarah and Chris' wedding day at The Schools of Somerhill was an absolutely great day, however if you'd seen the weather earlier that morning you'd be fearing the worst. It was exceptionally windy with plenty of rain! Fortunately, things brightened up in the early afternoon although the wind pretty much remained all day. An outside ceremony was planned, but unfortunately moving it inside was a sensible thing to do. The "back up plan" room is was still a lovely place for the ceremony.

After the early afternoon ceremony we cracked on through the group formal photos, having to stop a few times for short showers but completing them without too much hassle. The wedding breakfast was in the school's library which is a stunning room to sit down and spend time with family and friends. We managed to fit in a couple of portrait sessions throughout the day. For the first we explored behind the house and took a walk down to to the pond at the bottom of the estate. For the second we explored the meadows in front, both offer totally photo opportunities. We got treated to some lovely evening light that we really made the most of.
