JORDAN & LANCE - THE ORANGERY

Jordan & Lance’s stunning wedding at The Orangery in Maidstone

With torrential rain and high winds the day before Jordan & Lance’s wedding day at The Orangery in Maidstone, I didn’t hold out much hope with the weather being on our side for the big day. However, when I woke up to blue skies and a very slight wind on the day of the wedding I couldn’t wait to get going.

Jordan got ready in the stunning Wisteria Suite of The Orangery in Maidstone. Plentiful natural light flooded through the windows of the Wisteria Suite, which I gladly utilised for the make up and hair photos.

The bride chose to be ready in good time, allowing us to make full use of the time for a champagne-spray before returning to the Wisteria Suite to get into her wedding dress. We then set up separate reveals to the bride’s father and bridesmaids. These were such lovely and rare moments to photograph, as sometimes these reveals cannot happen due to time constraints on the wedding day.

Finally before heading to the ceremony, Jordan and Lance chose to privately share their wedding vows to each other. As it is tradition for the groom to not see the bride until she walks down the aisle, these vows were made without the couple seeing each other. This was achieved with a conveniently placed screen which meant Jordan and Lance were able to be in the same room together and hold hands whilst making their wedding vows to each other. Again, such a lovely moment.

It was then time for the ceremony, whilst the groom waited in the Orangery and the bride, her bridesmaids and her father made their way over the bridge. After a heart-felt ceremony, we then proceeded to do a confetti shot involving all of the guests.

(Top tip – if you’re planning a confetti photo, ensure there is enough confetti for your guests. Don’t rely on your guests bringing their own as often they don’t!)

After concluding the formal family photos, we went for a stroll around the extensive grounds at The Orangery to do some couples photos. This also provided Jordan and Lance with a bit of time away from their guests and a chance to recharge. Before sitting for the wedding breakfast, the bride and groom supplied smoke cannons for their wedding party. As I am not one to pass up an opportunity for some awesome photos, we headed over the water and had some fun!

After the wedding breakfast and some great speeches, the bride and groom had some time to chill with their family and friends. Unfortunately, as the darkness came in, so did the rain. But that didn’t stop up heading out with an umbrella for some photos in the dark. A choreographed first dance wowed the crowds, and then the party started and a live band had the dance floor busy all night!

I’ll leave you with a small selection of photos from Jordan & Lance’s wedding day at The Orangery, a beautiful wedding venue in Maidstone.
